Today I took a visit to my GP who recommended private psychotherapy as there is little more he can do.

For those of you who don't know I suffered DPDR last year but now I'm completely trapped with existential thoughts. It's dragged on a long time and I've seen little improvment. Anxiety is high and I'm not doing anything in life, mainly because im too caught up in my own internal hyperawareness. The doc just signed me off work for another year. I turn 30 next year and it would be a dream start to a new decade if i could feel functional and well again.

Before i sink any of what little money I have into private therepy i want to do as much research as possible. Does anyone have any leads to a good UK based therapist? I feel like i need someone who truly understands anxiety and obsessive thinking. Most medical professionals ive tried to speak to really don't seem to be able to understand where I'm coming from, and I think i deserve and need something a bit better than that now. South England would be best but I'm willing to travel.

Hi Where. Thank you, that's exactly the kind of information I was looking for as I really don't know where to start with the whole thing. I'll be sure to look up psychology today. Even if they don't list in the UK (I hope they do), i appreciate it.

I just can't waste any more time with generalists and chancers. What I'm experiencing is very specific, debilitating, and i'll never believe there is no one out there who hasn't at least seen this before. Gotta give myself every chance you know.

I hope you're well yourself
