·The only thing weird is that you think writing down song lyrics is weird. That is downright normal and very healthy. Care to share any of the song lyrics you have come up with so far?

jc..... my b/f writes poems....does that make him weird??????? i think it shows some imagination......its not a bad thing to do at all......no.....really......its sane....normal.....honestley.....stop letting your parents put you down your a grown man with a few mental health issues.....not a baby that needs advice on how to grow up
Like what dreamcather, Pure Narcotic and others said, it is not at all weird to be creative - and if your parents think it is, it is their shame. During my high school times I had a friend, who had difficulties with the exact same thing like you. We were in an art high school, and the friend of mine was talented beyond words at drawing/painting. But always when she was drawing/painting or reading novels, she felt guilty bc of it, cuz in her childhood her mother always showed her disgust toward her, while the friend of mine was drawing/reading. Her mother thought it was totally worthless to do anything like that, and as my friend had grown up in that kind of atmosphere, also during her adulthood she felt her mother looking at her, while doing anything her mother didn't like. But it is possible to overcome it, though it may take time. Please never think you're weird, it is not true. Actually I think it is a bit weird, if one doesn't have any creative hobbies/show creativity in any tasks in one's life. Indeed I think it is sad... You are totally healthy writing lyrics, that's for sure - I think it is a wonderful thing. Please believe that.

JC actually that's the most practical and universally accepted way of keeping track of your stuff as a musician. Lots of people have notepads or mini-tape recorders so that if they're away from home they can jot down an idea.
My dad thinks things I do are weird, but all the nurses at the office refer to him as "The Nutty Professor" because HE is so weird. So...just b/c your parents think you're weird doesn't mean you are (but doesn't mean you aren't!)

·JC, that is NOT WEIRD.
This is weird. Today I went out with a couple friends driving around like a lunatic shouting at unsuspecting pedestrians. 'HEY YOU' or 'AHHHHH' would not suffice for our own personal amusement but we thought it'd be funny to yell something that the ******** could relate with (i end sentences with prepositions i don't care). Our verbal assault consisted of yelling 'Dewalt!', 'Hechingers!', 'Loews!', 'Pep Boys!, 'Phillips!'. 'Dremmel!'...you get the picture.
THIS is weird JC. It was so goddamn funny though...I pity those who cannot understand.

jc.. can you see yourself doing what your parents do? dont you think what they do is strange? youre not them so why do you care what they think? its hard because you live with them so you have to deal with their crap. your parents come from the 'real world'. but dont forget.. that 'real world' is 'THEIR WORLD' set up for them run by people like them that leaves no room for people like us. its an unfortunate reality. but dont think for a second that that world is the ONLY world. there IS a place for you jc. you just have to go out and find it. youre trying too hard to assimilate. thats whats screwing you up. youre trying to be something you arent. youre not your dad or your mum or your sister or your sisters kids. and what you need to realize is that YOU DONT HAVE TO BE! there is nothing wrong with who you are right now except how you see yourself. who cares what they think. what do you think? do you think you suck? well then theres your problem!! its your self image thats defeating you.

·Sod what your parents are saying..creativity is a way of expressing stuff and a way of portraying....It's also one of the things that keeps me happy...whether drawing/writing lyrics etc
