18, first time drinking and did 10.8 units. Instantly I lost the progress of my DP recovery, feels like I'm back to square one now.

Does anyone else experience DP while drinking?

Mate why did you do that, from what you have said you were doing well.

Alcohol is one of things known to make it worse for some people. Don't do it again or I'll tan your arse.

You're not back to square one. You should feel better in a few days. Alcohol tends to worsen dp, but mainly only the day after drinking. For some, dribking helps them socialise and relax and forget about the condition so it's a question of working out your own personal balance. In general I would say avoid alcohol but if it helps you socialise then try and only have sensible amounts and don't have anything planned the day after drinking.

No idea, thought it wouldn't do anything. Was walking outside in the dark and had a panic attack and my mate had to hold my hand all the way home because I was so scared. DP'ed as hell when I panicked, don't really feel real after it either it's like its re-triggered my dp.

You will get back to where you were in your recovery...Just let this be a lesson...

When it comes to ANY mental health condition and in particular DP alcohol and drugs are to be avoided like the plague...The short term good effects DP sufferers can get from alcohol are not worth the long term damage it will do...The same applies to weed and other drugs etc.......

Your gonna be ok...

Go easy on yourself for the next while and reduce your stress levels in all areas of your life...

I have before, yes. Also hangovers exacerbated DP for me too. But it would never get me to the point weed did, i.e. "back to square one".
