alcohol and zoloft

I have been taking zoloft for the past few months and I sometimes have some wine or beer on the weekends. Will this make the medication less effective. I am not a hard drinker since I dislike hard liquor. Just a glass or two of wine or two bottles of beer occassionally.

They shouldnt interact, but alcohol is a depressant and it slows the output of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin. Zoloft helps to boost serotonin so they will sort of work against each other. Regardless, a little mild weekend drinking shouldnt hurt anything.
