im 16/f ...my dp/dr came back a week after i got a concussion(june 1st) ahh and i hate this feeling..i just want to wake up from this dream..

in november i ate a weed brownie and had a really really bad panic attack and i believe that cause my dp/dr. Over the next months i still felt like i was in a dream mostly all the time, i felt dissconnected and panicky...i slowly got better..every day was different but i deffinetly did get getter..ah i really thought it was going to be gone for ever.

yeah so i got hit in the head on june 1st in gym class some kid ran into me by accident and his cast on his arm hit me in the head/ neck wicked hard, and i had a panic attack about a half hour later..i went to the nurse and i didnt tell her i got hit in the head cause at the time i didnt remember..i had weird episodes were i would panic because my body would go numb i would feel really disconnected from myself and my visual depth preception was off. so the next day my mom took me to the ER..they did shit...not even a frekin x ray..even after they concluded it was a concussion!..i had to talk to a social worker and first he said it sounded like i have dp/dr..then he said he was stumped and didnt know what was wrong with me

the next few days i had really bad episodes, i visited this guy who specialises in epilepsy..ended up getting an EEG and it was normal..i went to my doctor the following monday and told her i felt disconnected from myself and i just dont feel right and she said that it was just a teenage thing..and told my dad it was all in my head! ughh!

alright for about a week and then those feelings came back again, i ended up leaving school early almost every day. on friday(june 17) randomly my head and neck started to hurt then they went numb..and then my face went numb! i thought it woudl go away but an hour later it was still like that and my mom came home from work and she took me to the ER..they gave me a cat scan and took blood..they said the cat scan was normal, but i still havent got the blood test results back. they think i either have MS, Lyme Disease, or Leukemia :( ..and after talking to the doctor about feeling disconnected and stuff he said it was just post concussion syndrome...i hope hes right :/ ...i feel so disconnected(land my thoughts are obsessive like always wondering "am i dreaming" is this really me?), im so exhausted

ahh ive had the worst month...and my birthday is on thursday :( , anyone got any suggestions or anything??

Well, maybe it's because of the hit in the head.

My suggestion:
1. do all the phisical exams (blook, head, neuro-stuff) to ensure that all these stuff are ok
2. try to write down all of the things you understand as wrong. Take the time. Just hang around with a paper and a pensil and note, everything you think. This may be tiring but it will help later.
3. try to find a doctor that knows about these stuff and keep in mind that you may need to visit a few doctors until (i am on my way to go to a second one). Try asking (in this forum or someone you trust) which doctor (specialy) is proper for treating DP/DR

That "teenage" stuff was quite irritating. I guess these people arent informed about everything. And attitudes such as that make you really wonder (well, at least, I am talking about myself) if you just have a capricious personality. I have no idea if you have DP (or DR), in fact I am wondering if I have it myself, so I can't be that much of a "detection" help. But i think that DP/DR can initiate from a traumatic even (like drugs or a hit in the head).

Good luck RedCaine. You definitely have a lot going on, but it sounds like its heading in a positive direction.

Please feel free to keep posting and let us know how things are progressing.

What you are going through sounds exactly like what i went through. One night i was at a party and i had too much to drink and i stupidly decided it was i good time for a bike ride and i fell off the bike and hit my head really hard. Next day my hands were tingling then a couple mornings later i woke up and my entire body had gone "numb". Not really cuz i could still feel things but enough that i thought i was having a stroke and went to er. I am 17/f and at the time i was 16. Any way er said go home and i went to a nurologist and had all the scans and i had a spinal tap and they did this thing where they shock my feet which really hurt and the whole time they thought i had ms and i was a nervous reck and i couldn't go to school because the patterns on the walls would move and the letters in the books i was sposed to read. Anyway they say i odn't have ms but none of the symtpms have gone away. When i was going through the process of finding out what was wrong it was HELL!!!!! but i got throught it and ther is hope.

nothing- are you still feeling the same as you did? cause that sounds so scary what youve gone through..things dont morph for me like everything looks normal but they seem off..for me im pretty sure its just post concussion syndrome...every day is different and it helps when i get as much sleep as i can...im gona call my doctor in alittle about the blood test results...id much rather have something physically wrong with me like lyme disease than dp/dr.

ah i feel exhausted right now, im going to go to sleep.
