There are no formel medical treatment for depersonalisation and emotional numbing in depersonalisation.

1)Some patents -around 50%,- sees some reductions in their symptoms in a combination of lamotrigine in a dose of 200-300.mg in a combination with a antideressent SSRI or SNRI class. 50% might see a reduction in symptoms of around 30%

2) some tries selfhelp literature that sees the emotional numbing as a result of anxiety and compulsive rumination where the numbing state is kept alive because of anxiety. This approach works with acceptances of a symptoms and detractence from them -and the emotional numbing will fade away. This site and literature related to it works with that approach. https://anxietynomore.co.uk/depersonalisation_and_derealisation/

3) rTMS a the right ventrolateral prefrontal cortex, VLPFC found to make significant reductions in emotional numbing in two trails but is very difficult to replicate due to the equipment and knowlege private providers of rTMS have in Europe and the US.

5) antipsychotic + ad combo which i like. When it worked for me I had emotions rush back to me like a wave. The combo specifically was 20mg Olanzapine, 15mg Mirtazapine but many combos available

6) trials going on in micro dose mushrooms show PTSD remission, but a while away

The numbness isn't actually the worse of symptoms you could have. Intense anxiety and insomnia were the worst of things for me. I lost all positive emotions at one point, and very slowly regained them over several years. I feel like I made it back 75%.

I can't point to a particular medication as having helped with that. I used my intellect and continued to do the things I remembered having a passion for, even though I no longer did. I basically faked it until I made it. And, I did actually make it.

But looking back, it all seemed so empty. Oh well. You do what you gotta do and play the hand you are dealt to the best of your ability.

From the depersonalisation research unit;

"We have seen a number of cases where patients with primary depersonalisation had been previously misdiagnosed with schizophrenia and started on antipsychotic medications, which had invariably worsened their symptoms." https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/2077/638170af373285242d985bb2f6cc61c43d27.pdf
