A small rant about doctors...

It's unbelievable that next to nothing is known about this pathology we all share. That's one of the worst things about DP.....that doctors and everyone else gives you a look like a "deer in headlights" when you mention it. It pisses me off so bad that it's conflated with anxiety. Clearly, we are not anxious 24/7, but have anxiety as a secondary element to this BS.

I don't think anything is ever going to change in the medical research community, because they are all in a big circle jerk over us as all having primarily an anxiety disorder.

As regards general practising everyday doctors you are wasting your time seeking treatment...

Therapists and Counsellors are even worse....99.999% of them are just pep talkers at best...

As for psychiatrists who have the smarts about them to recognise DP as a stand alone condition (They are few and far between)

In fact there are only 2 known clinics in the entire world that specialise in the treatment of Depersonalization Disorder...One in London and one in New York...And if you want to even get near them you will need either mega bucks or the patience of a saint...

What people on this forum and that of a lot of other Mental Health issue forums are realising is that treatment and care for mental health is in the dark ages all over the world....

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unless you have lots and lots of money you can consider yourself an expendable statistic in the eyes of your government and their health service...
