I'm gone from the internet for one week, just one, and it seems like the internet has gone to hell in handbasket. The bread and butter of my altnernate, cyber-existence, DPselfhelp, has been wiped a way, and in its place is this, this.....newbie. Its awful to have lost some of the old archives, and even worse that Rev had to spend more of his spare time fixing things up for us ( as always). But its great too. I've never been much of a pessimist about the forum, but from time to time, it seemed like some of this year's threads were just drowning in their own venom. Hopefully they will be lost forever. People were leaving, trying to leave (and not succeeding), or threatening to, because of other's grudges and prejudices. But now things are fresh, like walking into a new house as someone else so aptly put it. Everyone can create a new, better "net" persona. New friendships begun, old ones renewed, fresh alliances formed, old battles forgotten...I hope that everyone sees the new site as as an opportunity, and not just a replacement or a continuation of the old. I'd like to see it as the delineation between two eras. Like leaving highschool and going to college. It at least reminded me that perhaps I've been spending a little too much time online lately. After all, the purpose of this site is for people to get well and move on. So here's to DPSelfhelp, and the many people that will remember this new site as a safe, wise place that was a footnote in their long, healthy, and prosperous lives! Welcome back old friends!
