In Topic: Question for those who have had DP for years

17 November 2016 - 12:20 PM

i have had dp for around 5 years now and at first the dp was 24/7 constant. but recently i have been having alot of moments of clarity. where most of my day i might be dp'ed and another large portion of the day i feel close to normal and my mind is really clear and crispt and sharp.

but yea some of my symptoms consist of

-just feeling really spacey and having my social skills a bit diminished where i dont feel as well able to have regular small talk with people etc.

-my perception of time is also off where the days seem to go by more quickly for me.

-my vision is derealized, the world seems kinda flat and dull

but yea i just try and go with it and accept it and just move on with life as best i can. i just try and distract myself from it and focus at work and work as hard as i can to get a raise and maybe get promoted so i can live more comfortably

yea i think social media can be kinda stressful too because its like constantly being on a reunion with eighter your family or school friends were everyone judges each other's life or looks and you just wanna leave cause you have been there for a few years and its starting to drag lol....or like living in an apartment complex with some family/friends that are tenants in the rooms around you and they just constantly judge each other lol... idk thats how i feel it can be sometimes...but again it is pretty nice to get on and just reconnect and chat with people you havent seen there aswell

yea they helkp alot , liek when ever you have a cruddy day at work and you come back just slumpt and with your spirits a bit drained....I open the front door and see my corgi super happy to see me and that i am there just wagging his tail and you instantly feel way better about your day. and it also helps to have a sense of responsibility in taking care of him and feeding and walking him and his well being. just makes you feel good to know you are contributing so positively for him. and to know he seess you as his family
