About Me

Hello everybody, as you would have guessed by my photo, that is the "real" me.  Happy posing in front of that gold post box. That was 8 months ago. Now is a different story. I am Roxanne, I am 43 years old and suffer with depersonalisation disorder. Depression struck me in September 2012, I suffered with depression for 3 days before the DP decided to rob me of everything, up to September, I was happy, I had met a wonderful new man, Neil, I had got my yellow belt in karate, life was good. Since then I lost my new man because of my DP, karate and jogging I no longer had interest in. I have no interest in anything. I lost my sense of self, my identity. Now I wake each morning thinking here I go again, another day in the land of unreality. I look at people around me, they are happy, enjoying their lives as I did only a few months ago. This isn't the first episode of DP, I have had many, but they were usually brought on by over worrying or stressing, DP would hit but within weeks I would somehow click out of it. I had been DP free for 7 years until September 2012. This is my story, and I send you all much love and god bless, for I know how you all feel. As somebody said to me on here recently, we are indeed the real walking dead. I have been on Prozac 14 weeks now, so what now? If this doesn't work maybe try lamotrigene. The scariest thought....... living the rest of my life like this. God bless you all and much love to everyone of you. Roxanne xx
