I'm sorry, but that's the most idiotic and ignorant thing I've read in a while. 4-5 hours of exercise every day? That's definitely NOT healthy, especially for someone whose base fitness isn't good. That's way, way, way, WAY too much exercise in such a short timespan. Your body needs time to recover. What you describe here is way too much even for professional athletes. Complete and utter insanity. You'll end up with severe chronic fatigue and all kinds of health problems.

That said, I'm in a very good shape and regularly go running (4 times a week). This has no effect on my DR whatsoever. 

 

Agreed. If exercise helps people, then by all means they should go for it, but exercise alone is not going to cure this, and 4-5 hours of exercise is unrealistic and can be dangerous. Depersonalization stems from anxiety and trauma, which for some people can be really complex, and people really need to stop with the "Doing this ONE thing will cure you" type of posts, becasue there is not one cure for everyone. 

I unfortunately have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and fibromyalgia so exercising intensely for just 20 minutes can literally make me bed-bound for the next few days after. Definitely not gonna try this "cure" anyway XD

I have difficulty faking facial expressions. When I try to smile, it’s like that seen in “Addams Family Values” when Christina Ricci forces a smile at camp for the first time.

I’ve given up faking them. If you want to be around me, what you get is what you get.

Sammee, i can't fake smile or anything, I just can't. A blank look is just what you get :/

I thought I was the only one who didn't have natural facial expressions. I have learned to fake them well.

you're not the only one, I'm like this too :/ Except I can't fake expressions, it just looks weird and people know I'm faking.

So do you have complete emotional numbness then? I literally don't even know who I am anymore, I'm totally emotionless and blank, really desperate for a way out.

Hi Zach. Emotional numbing is a completely normal thing when experiencing dp, some people have a partial numbness with anxiety, or you could be in a totally numb, shutdown state with no anxiety or stress at all, which would be a full freeze response basically.

I used to have anxiety and partial emotional numbness at times, but now I'm completely numb to any emotion now or any sensation in my body like fear, just totally nothing, have been for about a year now, total blankness, total frozenness after lots of trauma and hardship in my life. I can't socialize or connect with other people, can't naturally have any facial expression whatsoever, no personality, no anything, just being a conscious human basically. I haven't found a way to start feeling again and it's really quite a miserable hell. I've been told by my therapist that this is a response through what's known as the dorsal branch of the vagus nerve. It completely numbs you and immobilizes you when you feel there is no way out, no chance of survival.

Idk if you're experiencing the same exact thing, and I don't have the answers, but I really hope you're not like me and start feeling again soon. How long has this numbness been going on? Xx

Really sorry to hear that I am in a similar position. Ever tried meditation to try and calm the body/mind? There is constant tension in my forehead like I am over focused. I have been trying to follow the breath and relax that tension in the head... I've tried millions of things like that though

Yeah I do meditation but it doesn't do much of anything :(

I have tension in my forehead a lot too, I have tension everywhere, every muscle in my body is constricted and tight and has been for years, idk how to release the tension, it's really uncomfortable.
