Tell me about it. DP already limits the enjoyable things available to you, now it seems you have to choose between self-pleasure and feeling the world.
It leads into an interesting non-hypothetical: which would you choose? Would you permanently give up masturbation (or even sex) if it meant getting rid of DP forever?

hell yes i would give up masturbation forever if it meant this condition would go away, but sex, i never had sex yet, so idk about that one chief

In Topic: If someone asks you what DP/DR feels like....

16 March 2020 - 12:30 AM

I just tried to get my mom to read this to understand somewhat of what i go through every day and she told me no but i told her if you dont read it, ill read it to you and i did. She told me “why do you go on the internet looking at stuff like this just to make you feel worse” I told her going on this site does not affect how i feel. Goes to show, my mom will never understand my suffering or thinks im just making it up or some shit and thats ok, i accept that. I rarely come on this site in the first place.

I added more to my post above.
Yolo, when people are inclined to call everything a defense mechanism, that is really a defense mechanism for them not knowing what they're talking about.
Anxiety or emotional trauma may be at the heart of DP for most people, but I just don't know. There's certainly a correlation. I hope everyone finds their way no matter what.

Yeah bro i know its a defense mechanism, hope you didn't take my reply the wrong way.
