Never Give Up! Recovery is ahead
Recovered from DP after about 7 months. Now recovering from the aftermath and trying to make my life better.
Some things that have helped me:
-Learn about DP and its relationship to anxiety. See a therapist and tell them how you feel.
-Control your anxiety
-STOP all caffeine and alcohol.
-Get off the computer and go outside and socialize. Get out of your comfort zone as hard as it is.
-Stay away from negative posts on this site that could be triggering. The Recovery Stories section has many good posts with good advice from people that have beaten this
-Diet: Eat as healthy as possible. Cut out all sugar, fast food, etc. These supplements have helped me: Fish Oil (High DHA), Vitamin B12 Complex, Vitamin D
-Get lab tests done to make sure you are healthy and not deficient in anything
-Sleep good every single night
-Setbacks and relapses are normal. Don't let them get you down. Never underestimate the ability of your brain to heal itself. You just have to help it heal by doing the things listed above.
-Bottom line is: Make recovery the Number 1 priority in your life and it will pay off
Some books that were important for me in recovery: "At Last A Life" by Paul David, and "The Linden Method" by Charles Linden
