A&E has so many tv shows about people with disorders; OCD, Intervention, Hoarders.

So how do these disorders get recognized and put into tv programs?

They should have one. I've had this for 18 years, people need to acknowledge it.

I'm not sure...if you want your own show you need financing and stuff. And then I guess you need the network to accept it? I guess since psychiatrist thing this is like a side effect of anxiety they wouldn't make it into it's own show. Or it's just not dramatic enough for a show...there's not real visible signs for it. Like for OCD you can show how they hoard stuff and things like that, but for dp there's nothing I guess...

Submit the idea to networks like A&E etc... One of the networks will become intrigued.

But i would try to contact a public TV station first and then try the major TV stations.

This is actually a good idea. I have thought about this a lot when having DP.

Well, if one of you doesn't mind whoring themselves out you could always approach a talk show. I am sure they'd jump for joy to run a DP themed freakshow.

I think mental disorders as a whole are a wooly area for many people. How else could two disorders as different from each other as schizophrenia and MPD/DID be mixed up all the time?

I vote for the following talk shows

Oprah

The view

The doctors? Although I don't like the show that much

Maybe if we can contact doable Cody, she writes the show 'united states of tara' which is based on DID, maybe she could spin it into the plot somehow?

Any ,medical show on BBC? Discovery?

Most of the shows are in syndication, and are shown worldwide . I think the majority of people are reside in the states and Daphne Simeon is in NYC, so it's fitting. I really feel that Adam duritz should step out and talk about this in public, no pressure on him of course, but he must have a great story
