It is what it is

Posted by MysteryGirl, 03 December 2018 · 368 views

So, I haven’t posted anything in a long time.
Here’s how I’m doing...

I’ve started to drink again.
I’ve started to smoke marijuana again, however I don’t do it very often, maybe once a month.
I eat what I want and I exercise when I please too.
I don’t go to therapy and I don’t take medication.
I have anxiety and fear all the time still.
My DPDR is still bad, and lately it’s been getting worse.

I’m happy. 😊

I’m happy because I’ve come to a realization and an acceptance of my “Condition”.
I’ve made a decision.
I’m going to live my life the way I want too.
I’m not going to let this “Illness” get the best of me.
Because the reality for me is....
I may never get ride of it.
It sucks but it’s the truth.
So why let it get me down and make me miss out on things.
I decided not to let it.
And when things get out of my hand, and they do a lot, I just say my new motto...

“It is what it is”.

To me, this means, to quote Simba from The Lion King...

“Sometimes bad things happen, and there’s nothing you can do about it, so why worry”.

Im not saying I don’t care. I just don’t sweat the little things anymore.
It helps me.
Maybe it’ll help someone else out there.

Good luck to everyone one.
I hope you’re all doing okay and you find happiness, even the smallest amount.
And remember...
“It is what it is”.
