I have had bad DP for 12 weeks, but just last night I started to click out of it. I have had severe identity confusion and anxiety, but that has since lifted. But with the same token, I don't feel like me, I just feel sort of "nothing", it is like I am connected with myself again but I feel zombie/blank/a nothing sort of feeling. Is this a transition period from DP back to normality because I have never had this before?? I have always been DP'd and then suddenly after a certain amount of time click back to completely normal. But I don't feel DP'd but I don't feel like me either, I sort of feel as if I am in a "no man's land" neither DP'd or normal, is this a transitition/swap over period from DP to normality? I am confused.

Please help.

Yes, I think so. Transition. Read this and go lie down somewhere comfortable and do it.

------------------

Close your eyes and place yourself at the most relaxing, beautiful place you have ever been to in your life.

A beach, perhaps.

You are lying on the sand.

Close your eyes. Listen to the waves. Feel the warm sand beneath you.

Listen to the seagulls. Smell the salt air.

Relax and float.

Just BE there.

Keep your eyes closed. Feel the sun on your skin and the light breeze on your hair. Feel the warmth of the air on your skin.

Listen to the waves.

You will be fine, my friend. Be in that relaxing place for a while until you feel all the tension drain right out of your limbs and out of your mind.

Relax.

You will be fine.

Hi Mip, just wanted to say i experienced exactly what you have written when coming out of dp. I felt like i didnt know my authentic self. I think its just part of the adjustment of coming back to functioning without the dp. I kept telling myself that the choices i make as me will reflect my who i am and then just got on with doing things. Again dont focus too hard on the feeling, it will diminish when you are not watching it so closely. Hope makes sense.

I think most people feel kind of 'stunned' when they start to come out of DR/DP, I know I did. But look at it this way, if DR/DP is like getting punched in the face, and feeling stunned is the aftermath, at least things (as the song goes) can only get better.

I was coming out of dp a few weeks ago but now it seems i'm going back in. anyone else have this experience? does this mean ill get to come back out of it again? its like i was dp/d then came out of it for a couple days, now im back into dp. is it going to stay like this forever now or do i have greater chances of recovering since i came out before? i also had the zombie feeling when coming out because it was like i was a blank person without any personalizations

I have felt like I am coming out of the state of DR quite a few times in the past 3 months.

I have a rather mild case I think and I have tried to come out about 4-5 times. It's just as soon as I do my mind starts to work again and it starts to question everything to the point where I am exhausted mentally and physically.

I think I draw myself in but each time it seems to get better and better.
