There's been a lot of talk about the Cipramil SSRI, so I thought I might as well offer my thoughts and experiences with the drug.
I was put on 20mg a day for DR /DP, following a huge ectasy (MDMA)binge....I took 4-5 pills of the stuff every weekend (Friday + Sat) for a seven week period, with no adverse effects, until one day I had an enormous panic attack during the dreaded come-down. I don't seem to react to illegal drugs in mild doses, so it seems that my brain chemistry is more adept at recovery.....what do you think ? Is this why I have recovered and others haven't ?
The Cipramil initially (as is widely reported) actually heightend my anxiety for the first week, during which it was the lowest point of my life, by slowly, gradually, I improved....until the present where I am virtually back to normal....but I do have panic attacks if I have a large amount of booze.
The thing is, and I don't want to sound too depressing, but I'm not sure anymore if the Cipramil actually acts on the DR /DP itself. I think, in my case, it just helped me cope me cope while my brain chemistry returned to normal. I count myself lucky that I recovered, as I know some people haven't...I sure won't dabble with drugs anymore.
I never increased my doseage, so maybe if I had taken the magical 40mg then my recovery might have been swifter.....you never know.
